TaxAid's Website is set up primarily focused on the needs of individuals and has unique
authority on issues as they affect those on low incomes.
However,
we are keen to ensure that advisers have access to the best support and guidance on
the tax system as it affects clients on low incomes. This section will be further
developed to give guidance to TaxAid volunteers and other practitioners giving
pro bono tax advice.
In the meantime you may wish to access areas of the site where we have special
expertise, especially that on tax debt or
tax credits.
Detailed guidance on the following aspects of tax debt is dealt with in this section
under Debt Advice for Advisers of the Site and
includes sections on:
- Introduction to Recovery Proceedings
- Negotiating with the Collector
- Distraint
- County Court proceedings
- Summary proceedings in the Magistrates' Court
If you cannot find what you need on the site and would like to discuss a client's
problem in the areas in which we have expertise, contact us on
info@taxaid.org.uk.
We cannot promise a response in respect of those clients who fall outside our guidelines
of income, but you are also welcome to call our private line for advice agencies
020 7803 4950.
If you wish to discuss becoming a volunteer tax professional adviser, contact
TaxAid.
